Default Remote/Radio controlled helicopters?

I had a visit from my Nephew yesterday and he brought along a remote/radio controlled Helicopter that he had been given as a present.
I haven't had so much fun in years.
Some research later and i find that there is a huge hobby behind all this. There is also an enormous confusing amount of different models with different specs (that i don't begin to understand) for sale.
Does anyone have any experience of them?
Can anyone recommend a beginners model to buy?
I have around £100 to spend and it must be able to be used outside.

Sorry, don't know much about RC helicopters . I had a reeeaaally cheap rc plane that I tore up a long time ago though .

But here is something that you may want to check out. It's pretty cool.

It's said to have a speed of 208 mph and a range of 99 miles
