Default Le Olympics and Cleaning up the Seine River

I think I've heard that the river might need some cleaning up before the Olympics;
so I remembered some people were doing this in the oceans !

I don't know whether these would help; but these are some of the Ocean cleaning up initiatives and some of their "ships" might be useful ?

http://theoceancleanup.com/

and another one

( Not that I'm being critical of France; because surely the US has gotten places polluted too much in our own country ( which I should be able to say, because I am an american ! )

These boats or something like them might be able to help the river in time for the Olympics start !

Well I guess they have experience with cleaning the Seine river. Here is a video from 8 years ago where they were cleaning up the Canal Saint-Martin.

This was the area where the music video Amelie was filmed.

Cleaning the river will be a hard task but what might be even harder is getting rid of the graffiti and keeping it from coming back.

The Charles river in my home city of Boston used to be so filthy about 50 years ago, that they said you needed to get a tetanus shot if you happened to fall in. Maybe you heard this song about it? Boston Harbor was much the same. They've done a tremendous amount of work over the decades and it's much improved but I imagine it and what is going on in Paris are projects with no end

Default Never quite made it to Boston

I've never quite made it to Boston; Funny the places you never get to in your own country ! I imagine the French must have made it to every place in their country ! And the British also ?
At one time as a kid, we went to Canada, but I don't remember where that was and we did go down and see the Niagara Falls ( slowly I turned....step by step... ! Ha !)
I had to go on a short service excursion to New York, but we didn't see anything of the city; and I've dropped guys off at the Philly airport to catch planes, but I've never really seen the City of Philadelphia, either ! Being a little older now; I 'm kind of a stick in the mud, and I don't like to travel much; although I would if I had to for a good reason !

At one time the late night hosts used to make fun; because they would say the Hudson River around New York was on Fire again ! Now you really have had to pollute a River for it to catch Fire ! Ha ! But I think they have managed to clean it up some since those days !

That's kind of funny. I just recently got back from a trip to Europe which included Slovakia and Hungary which completes a list of countries in Europe I wanted to visit . I've had the benefit of working for a major airline which gives me great travel benefits. It seems a lot of the people I had worked with were afraid of going to Europe because of the differences in language and other things, but me learning about Alizée, made me want to visit Europe and I found out the differences were tough, but far from inconquerable and it opened up a whole new world for me.
